- Unite into one national organization from peace officers organizations regardless of religion, sex, race, creed, color, national origin or age, who share a common interest and bond with NAPOA.
- Promote and foster mutual cooperation between law enforcement officers, their agencies, private industry and the public.
- Conduct training seminars, institute conferences to benefit the membership.
- Provide a benevolent organization.
- Engage in community activities that will advance the interests of the NAPOA and its members in the community and in the nation, direct or indirectly.
- Provide to students entering college, a scholarship award based on merit. Qualifications for the award are based on academics, achievements, community services and an essay.
