National Law Enforcement Museum Gala |

Engraving 2012 Fallen Next week, we will begin adding the names of 362 brave men and women who fell in the line of duty to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. This will bring the total number of officers honored on the Memorial to 19,660. Engraving each name costs nearly $250 - this year it will cost more than $90,000 to honor these brave American heroes. And we need your support! Will you consider helping us complete this important task and honor our officers by making a gift of $20.00 or more? Of the 362 officers, 163 were killed in the line of duty in 2011. An additional 199 officers, who fell in previous years, have been discovered by Memorial Fund research and approved by our Board of Directors as part of our work to honor the sacrifice and service of all of our peace officers - especially our fallen heroes. Part of the mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is to "... permanently record and appropriately commemorate the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers ..." Please help us engrave these names with a gift of $20.00 or more. I sincerely hope you join us on May 13, 2012 at 8:00 pm for the 24th annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, or watch a live webcast of the Vigil. Sincerely, |
